The SPCA Cincinnati is proud to introduce its current initiative: Chow Now Pantry! This program is fostered by a relationship with Clossman Catering in which we will feed 700 dogs, as well as cats and small animals, weekly. The SPCA Cincinnati has been Cincinnati’s hometown shelter since 1873, with many “firsts” to benefit animal welfare – the Chow Now Pantry is another first. We believe NO pet owner should be worried about surrendering an animal because of financial or health reasons.
Our story began with our Chow Now Pantry Food Truck visiting various pop-up locations in the Greater Cincinnati area. Pop-up locations have been identified with our partner, Tikkun Farms. Tikkun Farms is a 3.5-acre family farm in Mt. Healthy.
On November 15, 2023, we opened a dedicated Chow Now Pantry location at 516 W. Wyoming Ave. in Lockland in conjunction with Pets in Need. The distribution center is open to the public every other Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Anyone in need of free pet food can come to this pantry once a month. We are so excited about this expansion and want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, especially Pets In Need’s director and founder, Ann Hill!

The SPCA Cincinnati also serves Veterans in our community by providing essential items for their animals at home. We continue to serve our Veterans with a return visit each month to the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
From a letter received from the Executive Medical Center Director after our first visit:
"On behalf of the Cincinnati VAMC patients and staff, we would like to extend our appreciation to you for your donations of approximately 2,000 pounds of dog and cat food, cat litter, treats, cleaning supplies, etc. for our Veterans with animals.
It is through the efforts of community partners like you that allow us to continue the quality care and services that we seek to provide for deserving Veterans. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you again for future events."
